The Brewhouse is a Grade II listed structure but It's listing belies the fact that it holds a high level of significance as part of the wider Seaton Delaval Hall site.

 

A key landscape feature of the Georgian parkland, incorporating challenging geometries, the structure offers visitors their first glimpse of Vanbrugh’s aspiration and frames the view of the hall itself. The design for the new extension was conceived as an extension to the existing historic building, with contemporary agricultural references to the adjacent tractor yard.

 

The crafted sweet chestnut and zinc clad lean-to extension features a discreet concealed junction with the historic fabric, using perspective to create a visually ‘clean’ silhouette,
