NUNSMOOR PLAY CENTRE

This £1.5m building project in the West End of Newcastle, offered a rare and exciting opportunity to create the only new building to be built on the historic Town Moor in Newcastle upon Tyne for many years.

 

The brief called for the creation of an education centred, multi-purpose community  building. Carefully designed to fit in with the unique Town Moor landscape  informal internal and external spaces were created to create sheltered gathering spaces below oversailing roofs.

 

Internally a flexible layout of meeting spaces, training kitchens,  sports hall, creche and officers created flexible spaces that can be easily subdivided for different uses.
