REDHILLS
Durham Miners Hall, also known as the ‘Pitman’s Parliament,’ is located in the heart of the Durham and has been the home of the Durham Miners’ Association (DMA) for over a hundred years. Mosedale Gillatt Architects were appointed to extend and restore this Grade II*listed building for Redhills CIO, a charity set up to preserve the historic Durham Miners Hall and promote the culture and heritage of the Durham coalfield. Following a successful NLHF application the £10M ‘Redhills Revealed’ project, known as Durhams ‘other Cathedral’, is now open to the public..
